“The British government is deeply concerned about the tendency of the Russian government to adopt a malicious approach,” a British diplomatic spokesman said in a statement.

The U.S. administration, led by President Joe Biden, today announced tough financial sanctions against Russia, targeting 32 companies and people and ordering the expulsion of 10 embassy officials from Russian service in the US capital.

The decision was in response to a computer attack in 2020 that has now been formally imposed on Russia, which was able to introduce malicious code through a North American software company, Solar Winds, and gain access to the networks of several US federal organizations.

Among other “irresponsible” actions, the US administration this Thursday accused Russia of trying to interfere in the 2020 presidential election, which dictated Joe Biden’s victory.

After the US position was revealed, British diplomacy, during the summons, announced that Russian Ambassador in London Andrei Colin had decided that the British intelligence services abroad were at the origin of the Russian Secret Service (SVR) computer attack. Used by Solar Winds.

The diplomatic representative was informed that “the United Kingdom will continue to work with (its) allies to condemn and control the activities of Russian intelligence,” the source added.

London “expressed British concerns over the strengthening of Russian military forces on the Ukrainian border. [penĂnsula] Crimea is illegally occupied, “said the British Foreign Office.

“These actions are threatening and destabilizing. Russia must stop its provocations and end the escalation of tensions,” British diplomacy concluded.
