The Department of Health trains specialists to improve diabetes care

The Municipal Health Secretariat (SMS) will conduct, starting Thursday (25), a training aimed at improving foot care for diabetic patients who are being followed up by the network. The qualification takes place in the auditorium of the School of Public Health of the State of Paraiba, in the district of Torre.
According to the Directorate for Health Care (DAS), the target audience for training are doctors and nurses from the Family Health Strategy. “Our focus is on qualifying professionals to take a more holistic view of people with diabetes, with an eye on prevention and treatment of complications such as diabetic foot, with the goal of reducing the number of patients who end up with lower limb amputations and, in turn, improving the quality of life for these people,” Allen said.
