To drive, the Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo is refined, comfortable and pleasant, and has a solid pace. But while it is very easy to handle and secure in its handling, it is not very fun with that extra dose of mechanical grip.

A Fabia has amazing big car isolation and buoyancy rather than dynamic vigor or athleticism. The ‘Monte’s 1.5-litre powertrain has its merits, but it doesn’t shift particularly freely, and the DSG gearbox doesn’t shift very quickly. Body control is respectable, but on a proper B-road you’ll find the depth of power dampens just below the national speed limit. Appetite for curves is moderately strong; But there’s less natural agility here for a small car, and only chassis and steering responses are drastically reduced.

With visual performance spices (you can start anywhere between the Ford Fiesta ST Line, the Mini Cooper or the surprisingly affordable Hyundai i20 N. ) If you really want the latter and want the Fabia’s practicality, functionality, livability and value, this car is clearly worth considering. . Be well-prepared, however, so that it appears to others as a waste of a good branding opportunity.
