Inter Milan is the champion of Italy!

A day to celebrate in Milan (but only for a few), after Inter beat rivals Milan 2-1 on Monday and became Italian champions for the 20th time.

With this win and five rounds remaining before the end of the tournament, with only 15 points to play, Simone Inzaghi's team now has a 17-point lead over Rafael Leao's Milan, which can no longer become mathematical champions.

In the Milan derby match, at the San Siro Stadium, with the title in their hands, Inter reached the goal first, in the 18th minute, following a corner kick, with Acerbi taking advantage of Pavard’s pass.

The visiting team's second goal came in the 49th minute, with Thuram's low shot outside the penalty area, without any chance for Minyan.

Milan reduced the score in the 80th minute, and Tomori scored with a header. Hope remained until the end, but it was no longer of any use.

In the last minutes, with tension, several disagreements occurred between the players, forcing the referee to show three red cards to Theo Hernandez, Dumfries, and Calabria.

Thus, Inter succeeds Napoli as champions and becomes the second team in Italy to win the largest number of titles, directly behind Juventus.
