Wales international Gareth Bale ended his career at the age of 33. Throughout his career, he scored 225 goals in 664 goals.

“After deep and thoughtful reflection, I announce my immediate withdrawal from international and club football,” Bale revealed on social media.

Wales’ leading figure for the past decade, the former player feels “incredibly lucky to have fulfilled his dream of playing the sport” as he says he loves.

Gareth Bale appeared at Southampton, from where he left for Tottenham. In 2013, Real Madrid paid more than 100 million euros to hire him, but the Welshman’s visit to the Spanish capital was marked by a lot of controversy, which overshadowed his performance on the field.

After a loan spell at Tottenham in 2020/21, Bale decided to leave Europe at the end of last season to head to the United States of America, after helping Los Angeles FC win the NBA title last season.

The Wales international has an enviable resume, having won five Champions Leagues, three Club World Cups and two UEFA Super Cups, all with Real Madrid.

He was also the champion of Spain three times and won the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup. In England, he won the League Cup with Tottenham.

On an individual level, he was awarded the FIFA Ballon d’Or in 2018.

The last major competition Gareth Bale participated in was the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, who were serving Wales. It was the third final round he played with the British national team, after Europe 2016, from which he only got out in the semi-finals against Portugal, and 2020.

“Football has given me some of the best moments of my life. I’ve made a career that I’m very proud of. Playing and captaining my country 111 times was really a dream come true,” the player wrote in his farewell moment. .
