Environmental Health Monitoring, through the Dengue Prevention Program, reports that the first rapid catalog survey on Aedes aegypti (LIRAa) for 2023 will begin on Monday (9).% of properties in the municipality are looking for larvae of the Aedes aegypti mosquito.

Due to the need to conclude, in a short period of time, the agents of endemic combat will operate until Saturday, January 14th, a date that should also mark the end of the action.

For this reason, the Ministry of Health requires that residents accept agents’ visits to residences. They will be duly identified with an environmental health control uniform and a badge containing professional information. In addition, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, agents will conduct their work in accordance with existing protocols.

If the agents are suspected, residents can contact the Environmental Health Monitoring Authority from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. by phone 32337289.

The location is in Rio Grande

The number of Aedes outbreaks detected last year was higher than in previous years, which correlates with the growth in suspected dengue notifications. So far, the municipality has registered four imported cases (the patient traveled and became infected outside the municipality), and two original cases (the patients were contaminated within the municipality).

In view of this scenario, the Secretariat requests the cooperation of all to implement this activity that seeks to prevent and reduce the risk of increasing the number of people infected with dengue fever and other arboviruses transmitted by Aedes aegypti, such as Chikungunya Fever and ZiKa Virus.
