World Health Day: City Hall appoints new doctors for UBSs

The Health Promotion Department (UGPS) Unit will augment its staff with 134 new professionals who will work in various sectors of the municipal health network in the coming weeks. The appointments are part of the process of reshaping the staff and also expanding the services of several medical specialties.
There will be at least 62 new doctors who will work in primary healthcare units. It is planned to hire 29 general practitioners, 15 gynecologists, 6 pediatricians and 6 psychiatrists, among other specialties.
“This year, 49 professionals have already been appointed to replace staff. Another 36 have already begun to increase attendance and 49 will also be called upon. We are increasingly strengthening the framework to improve and make our services more humane, ”informs the Director of Health Promotion.
In addition to physicians, the health promotion unit recruits community health agents (31), nurses (17), and zoonoses and endemic disease control agents (4).
“With these new appointments, which add up to more than R$1 billion annually in health, we can improve our service in primary care every day,” stresses the Director of Health.
In March, Saúde de Jundiaí was awarded. The city received the David Capistrano Award at the XIX Exhibition of Successful Experiences of the Municipalities of São Paulo, at the 36th Congress of Municipal Health Secretaries of the State of São Paulo.
