In an unexpected development, an American woman received a lottery ticket that turned out to be the winner of a prize worth one million dollars, or more than 930 thousand euros.
Big luck smiled on this woman when a stranger, but a regular customer at a Chicago gas station, offered her a Lucky Day Lotto ticket. The winner admitted she was shocked when she found out she had won, according to a press release from the Illinois Lottery.
The winning numbers were 3-4-6-25-27. Local media reported that the gas station from which the ticket was purchased, FAS Mart, received $10,000 for selling the winning ticket. Nothing is known yet about the “good Samaritan” who displayed the winning ticket.
“Everything happens for a reason,” said the winner, who chose to remain anonymous.
As he revealed, the money will be used to buy a car, give part of it to his grandfather, find a new home, and save the rest.
