Some of British television’s best-known female wildlife presenters, filmmakers and camera operators are joining forces for a new nationwide stage production celebrating the women who bring the natural world to television screens.
Wild Women Live – The Tour will visit 29 venues across the UK in spring 2027, including the Alban Arena in St Albans on 13 April. The production will feature broadcasters and natural history specialists whose work has appeared across the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, Netflix and National Geographic.
Michaela Strachan and Anna Dimitriadis Lead Wildlife Tour
The tour will be fronted by BAFTA Award-winning broadcaster Michaela Strachan, known for programmes including The Really Wild Show, Countryfile and Springwatch, alongside wildlife cinematographer and presenter Anna Dimitriadis, whose credits include Big Cats 24/7 and Tiger Island.
Dimitriadis has worked in challenging environments ranging from close encounters with big cats to filming beneath Antarctic ice, using long-lens, underwater and drone cinematography.
For the St Albans leg of the tour, Strachan and Dimitriadis will be joined by conservationist Megan McCubbin and broadcaster Naomi Wilkinson.
The production aims to provide audiences with a behind-the-scenes look at natural history filmmaking, covering the practical challenges, risks and unexpected moments involved in capturing wildlife in environments ranging from British countryside and coastlines to jungles and Arctic landscapes.
Tour Highlights Women Behind Wildlife Television
Speaking about the new tour, Anna said: “The women we are bringing together for this tour come from different disciplines and generations – but what unites us all is courage, exceptional skill, resilience and a determination to look more closely at Mother Nature’s wonders.

The wider touring cast includes wildlife biologist Lizzie Daly, Scottish wildlife filmmaker Libby Penman, environmental journalist Sarah Roberts and presenter and filmmaker Hannah Stitfall. Different combinations of contributors will appear during the tour, while Strachan and Dimitriadis are scheduled for every venue.

RSPB and Volvo Back Wild Women Live
The tour is sponsored by the RSPB and Volvo, bringing conservation and sustainability organisations alongside the stage production.

Nationwide Tour Will Visit 29 Venues
The 2027 programme begins in Bristol before travelling to locations including Leicester, Northampton, Eastbourne, Buxton, St Albans, Leamington Spa, Shrewsbury, Weymouth, London, Exeter, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Harrogate, before concluding in Keswick.
For audiences in Hertfordshire, the Alban Arena appearance offers an opportunity to hear directly from women whose careers span broadcasting, zoology, environmental journalism, conservation and specialist wildlife cinematography.
Beyond stories from the field, the production is intended to highlight the range of careers available within the natural history sector and encourage a new generation of women to consider roles behind the camera, in scientific research and in conservation.
Tickets for the St Albans performance and other dates on the nationwide tour are now on sale through Wild Women Live and participating venues.
