Waze is gearing up to give users more and more features. These appear almost spontaneously and help with driving and at times when they need help. A new batch of new features have now been announced, providing Waze with greater safety for all drivers.
Over the past few months, the Waze team has been rolling out several new features, all tied to what's essential about this app and service. We talk about driver assistance and how it can be used in everyday life on the road. And now, 6 new utilities have been revealed that everyone will definitely want to use.
#1 – Assistance in navigating complex roundabouts
Knowing how to navigate the roundabout can be confusing, especially if you're in a new part of town.
Now, with the help of local Waze community members, you'll clearly see when you enter, which route you choose, and where you exit so you never miss your turn. It will launch globally for Android users this month and for iOS users later this year.
#2 – Help keep first responders safe
You can now be alerted in advance when emergency vehicles, like an ambulance, stop along your route, so you can adjust your driving as needed. This will keep you and your rescuers safer.
Thanks to the contribution of Waze city partners, this update is now available to drivers in the US, Canada, Mexico, and France on Android and iOS, and will be available in more countries soon.
#3 - Never miss a speed limit again
Nobody likes getting a speeding ticket. With Waze's updated information about speed limits around the world, you'll start receiving alerts when the speed limit is about to drop along your route.
This gives you more time to slow down and safely adapt to changing road conditions. This will be rolled out globally to all Android and iOS users this month.
#4 – Surf like a local
Waze already warns of dangers like potholes, road crossings, and bad weather. Now, thanks to Waze's community of drivers who regularly update the map, you'll also receive advance warnings about sharp curves, speed bumps, and tolls so you can prepare and have a smoother, safer drive.
These alerts will be rolled out globally to all Android and iOS users this month.
#5 – Find parking options easily
Waze has partnered with Flash to provide more helpful information about parking, including how much parking costs, whether it's covered, whether it's wheelchair accessible, and whether electric vehicle charging stations are available. You can also reserve your parking spot directly in the Waze app to save time.
The new parking information will begin rolling out in the coming weeks on Android and iOS to more than 30,000 parking lots across the U.S. and Canada, including major cities like New York, Chicago and Montreal.
#6 – Useful information about preferred routes
Many Waze drivers say they prefer to take their favorite routes to places they visit frequently, like home or work, even if it's not the fastest option. Starting this month, Waze will make it easier to view information about your regular routes, including real-time traffic updates and delays along the way.
You can use this information to quickly compare your preferred routes with alternative routes and choose the right route. This update will be released this month globally on Android and iOS.
As shown, many of these new features are now available for use, especially on Android. Versions for iOS will arrive soon with the same features. Some of them are exclusive to some countries, but they should soon be expanded to include more locations.
