On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed that conscripts or soldiers in reserve would not fight in Ukraine, and made clear that the attack was being carried out by “Professionals” who achieve “set goals”.

The Pentagon said Monday that Russia is recruiting Syrian fighters to “surge its forces in Ukraine,” confirming reports in the Wall Street Journal over the weekend.
