The federal government announced that Brazil had reached the mark of more than 300,000 operations“Digital Sale” of vehicles, a function that allows the purchase and sale of vehicles using a Digital Traffic Card (CDT).

The inclusion of vehicle tokenization, through Drex, to facilitate trading operations, is one example that central bank managers constantly point to in lectures and statements on how Brazil’s new digital currency could provide new business opportunities and make life easier for residents.

“With digital sales, provided by the Digital Pass application, the process of buying and selling vehicles becomes simpler, more flexible and safer for the parties involved in the process,” says Brenno Sampaio, End-Customer Relationship Supervisor at Serpro.

No more notary

According to Perino, the function performs biometric facial authentication of the buyer and seller, verifies the condition of the vehicle involved in the process, allows the digital signature of the electronic ATPVe document and, finally, automatically informs the sale at the end of the procedure.

Through the CDT environment, the vehicle owner communicates the intention to sell to the future buyer. To do this, simply access the “Vehicles” tab, click on the “Start Digital Selling” button and fill in the recipient’s CPF.

From there, the Detran Vehicle Registration Office becomes aware of the procedure and allows the creation of an ATPV-e (Authorization to Transfer Vehicle Ownership), which appears on the CDT and is signed electronically by both parties.

Evaluation bodies in Accra, Alagoas, Bahia, Ceará, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Paraná, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Norte, Rio Grande do Sul, Rondônia, Roraima, São Paulo , Sergipe, Tocantins. The latest addition was from Detran Piauí, who has now started offering the job.
