Oh British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has acknowledged that Ukrainian refugees heading to the United Kingdom are at risk of being deported to Rwanda along with other illegal immigrants.

The official announcement was made on Friday in the context of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. When asked by reporters about the possibility of deportation of Ukrainians to Central Africa in the context of the UK’s new immigration policy, Johnson acknowledged that this could happen.

And so on Ukrainian refugees can be deported to Rwanda if they travel to the UK via the English Channel without permission.Boris Johnson said.

In the past, Boris said, the possibility of deporting Ukrainian refugees to Rwanda under a controversial deportation plan was revealed in April. That will not happen”. This Friday, however, it said: “People will only be deported to Rwanda if they break the safe and legal routes we have and travel illegally to the UK.”

He clarified that the United Kingdom “issues 130,000 visas to Ukrainians and that there are at least two good options for the UK”. “But if you come here illegally, you are harming everyone who is here legally. And it’s crazy. Therefore, The answer I am afraid of is, yes, in theory I think it can happen. But I do not think it’s possible, ”he said, acknowledging the possibility of deporting Ukrainians.

It may be recalled that Boris Johnson announced an agreement with Rwanda in April, which defined that those who entered the UK illegally would be deported to Rwanda in East Africa.

In return, Rwanda will receive 1 million in development aid.

Deported immigrants can apply for asylum in Rwanda rather than the UK.
