The Midnights album also broke another record. With over 800,000 copies sold worldwide, it was the first LP to sell equivalent sales to its CD counterpart in three decades. According to NME magazine’s website, vinyl last surpassed CD sales in 1987. That year, the best-selling recordings were Michael Jackson’s Bad, Dirty Dancing soundtrack and Armas e Rosas’ Appetite for Destruction. .
