Ubisoft has finally revealed the very mysterious “Project Avatar” it has been working on: “Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora”.
At the Ubisoft Forward conference, as part of E3 2021, the company announced a new game set in the epic world of James Cameron – “Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora”. The new game, developed by Massive Entertainment (the same company that was responsible for developing “The Division”), will be released in 2022, only on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Right after the trailer premiere (which you can see below), Ubisoft revealed that the game will be a first-person adventure, and that it will be a follow-up to “Avatar: The Game” that was released alongside the movie in 2009.

“In this new standalone expanse of the Avatar universe, you play as a Na’vi, and embark on a journey across the western frontier, an never-before-seen part of Pandora. The trailer begins with a first-person look at a place that looks familiar, lush, and beautiful, before we encounter the Na’vi and erotica, With the distinctive beauty of Pandora floating in the mountains in the background. Then we see what reveals itself as new life forms and areas of Pandora, along with some familiar avatars, including hexapods and racehorses. Of course, Pandora wouldn’t be without a stunning display of bioluminescence, as the spirits of the jungle float through the dense and bright vegetation in the dim light of the gas giant Polyphemus.
Interestingly enough, it is the first game in the Ubisoft wallet that has so far been announced entirely designed for next-generation consoles. Hopefully, this means that the game not only looks good, but also uses new hardware and innovative mechanics that are not unlike those we saw in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart.
