U.S.The Telegraph reports that a factory in Oxford will try to combine Govt-19 and the flu vaccine.
The Vaccine Production and Innovation Center (VMIC), a British government-sponsored program that opens this year, seeks to combine a Govt-19 and flu vaccine in an effort to reduce production time.
In addition, the combined COV-19 and influenza vaccine will facilitate the delivery process, especially if future doses against COV-19 are required.
“This will save us a lot of time and make it more convenient to get a single dose of vaccine, so this is something we and vaccine manufacturers will be looking at,” said Matthew Dutchers, CEO of VMIC.
“If we need to give a seasonal vaccine, and people need a dose of the flu, a dose of Covit-19 and something else, it would be desirable if we could all combine it into one vaccine,” Duchers said.
VMIC was invested by the British government at 200 million (over 5 235 million). When it is in operation, it is capable of producing 70 million doses of the vaccine in four or five months.
