A healthy diet is the foundation for longevity and improved quality of life, that’s for sure. But science has shown that eating certain foods on a regular basis can have a positive or negative effect on the body and mind.

Uma Naidu, a nutrition expert at Harvard University, is the author of the book This is your brain on foodExplains what vitamins we should consume to keep the brain healthy and youthful.

In an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), quoted from the website the historianThe expert explains that vitamin B is the most important nutrient for maintaining brain health and that all eight existing types of vitamin B work positively on the brain, despite their different benefits.

Therefore, Uma Naidu recommends eating some foods to take care of brain health, such as yogurt, which is a source of riboflavin, or salmon or sunflower seeds, which are among the richest sources of vitamin B5.

In fact, the expert points out that sunflower seeds provide 20% of the recommended daily dose of this vitamin, which can be met by consuming only 28 grams.

The expert also recommends eating sunflower seeds in a salad or mixing them with any drink.
