Secretary of State for Portuguese Communities Berta Nunes begins a three-day visit to the United Kingdom next Tuesday, which will include meetings with national citizens residing in the country.

According to a statement from the Foreign Office in Lusa, the visit is aimed at “assessing the situation of Portuguese settlers in the United Kingdom”. On June 30th.

The move will also help “contact one of the communities most affected by measures to combat the Govt-19 epidemic.”

The visit officially begins with a visit to the Portuguese consulate in London on the morning of the 18th, the report said.

In the afternoon, a meeting is planned at the Portuguese Embassy in London with the Portuguese Teaching Coordination in the United Kingdom, and a meeting with community members will be available later in the day.

On Wednesday morning, Bertha Nunes will visit the Anglo-Portuguese School in London, and in the afternoon will meet with the Portuguese community in Stockwell, Lombet, the most Portuguese part of the British capital, where he will visit the South Lambeth Library. The Secretary of State will meet with advisors to Portuguese communities, representatives of affiliated movements, Portuguese students and researchers from the United Kingdom (PARSUK, in English), and representatives of the Anglo-Portuguese Association.

Finally, Bertha Nunes will arrive at the Portuguese Consulate in Manchester on Thursday morning for lunch, followed by representatives of the Portuguese community.

The project ends with the arrival of a Portuguese business establishment.
