From Friday, it will be possible to vaccinate at any vaccination center in mainland Portugal, according to the vaccination task force announced. “Users can be vaccinated against Covid-19 at any vaccination center in mainland Portugal of their choice, simply using the ‘Open House’ digital password system,” the sent press release says.

This open house model is now valid for the first dose, but also for those who wish to take the second dose in a different location than where they took the first dose. To do this, all you have to do is give this indication when you take the first dose.

The task force also calls on all users who meet vaccination requirements to do so “to protect themselves and the rest of the population.”

According to the Task Force, the changes come as a result of what they see as a “very positive outcome of the vaccination process” and the increased availability of vaccination centers.

“Since a large part of the eligible Portuguese population has already been vaccinated, there is greater availability in the various vaccination centers that are currently open,” he justifies.

The latest national data indicates that Portugal already has 72% of the population fully vaccinated and 80% have had at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

At this point, the Task Force reinforces the call for all eligible users to be vaccinated “to protect themselves and the rest of the population, and to take advantage of the structures that still exist.”

Covid-19 has caused at least 4,472,486 deaths worldwide, among the more than 214.5 million new coronavirus infections recorded since the start of the pandemic, according to the latest report from Agence France-Presse.

In Portugal, since March 2020, 17,689 people have died and 10,28421 confirmed cases of infection have been recorded, according to data from the Directorate General of Health.

The respiratory disease is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which was discovered in late 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China, and currently with variants identified in countries such as the United Kingdom, India, South Africa, Brazil or Peru.
