“LIRAa is an activity that allows the identification of areas with the highest prevalence of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, and thus be able to indicate transmission rates of dengue, Zika virus and chikungunya. Field work will continue until Friday (8). During the week, Endemic Control (ACE) agents will visit 8,190 properties in the 100 neighborhoods that make up the 19 layers. “100 ACEs are involved in this procedure, and they also have field supervisors and staff, as well as laboratory staff. The previous LIRAa, which was implemented in June, showed a Building Infection Index (IIP) of 2.8% in Campos. This result was lower compared to previous surveys, resulting in 3.9% and 5.4% implementations, respectively, in April and January.
