The daily bulletin on dengue cases issued by the Ministry of Health this Wednesday afternoon (10/4) shows that the Federal Territory recorded 234 deaths due to the disease in 2024 alone.

The information is contained in the Ministry's dengue status panel. In total, there are 59 other deaths under investigation. The bulletin indicates 207,305 possible cases of dengue fever. There were 113,472 diagnoses of the disease in women (54.9%) and 93,056 in men (45.1%).

The figures differ from those released by the Ministry of Health (SES) last week. The regional body reported 198,923 probable cases of the disease and 205 deaths.

Downtrend

In a press conference held on Tuesday (9/4), the Minister of Health and Environmental Control, Ethel Maciel, explained that there is a downward trend in cases in eight states and the Federal District. Despite this, he stressed that this is not the time to reduce care in combating the disease Aedes aegypti.

“Anyone who notices signs and symptoms such as fever, headache or any discomfort should go to the health unit so that the correct diagnosis can be made. The minister stressed that deaths caused by dengue fever are preventable.
