Luton Town player and captain, Tom Lockyer, collapsed unconscious on the field, during the match against Bournemouth, today, Saturday, in the 59th minute of the match.

The Premier League match was stopped after a 1-1 draw. It all happened after three substitutions were made in the Luton team. Lockyer was taken off on a stretcher to applause from the crowd in the stands and the remaining players left the field of play.

“The players at Vitality Stadium went into the tunnel and the match was suspended. The English Premier League said, in an official statement, on the social networking site X: “This is due to a medical incident with one of the players.”

Lockyer (29 years old) had already collapsed during Luton’s match against Coventry on May 27 in the final match of the English Premier League. The Wales international centre-back remained in hospital for five days and underwent surgery to correct atrial fibrillation.
