Sputnik – Ansar Allah (Houthis) has been attacking merchant ships operating in the critical global trade chokepoint in the Red Sea since November, and according to the group, the UK is the only country responsible for such an attack.
The Houthis have vowed to attack any ship perceived to be aligned with Israel, and global trade has since been halted.
Also, Yemeni militia officials said in a series of statements over the weekend that the attacks would continue.
“Yemen will sink more British ships, and any damage or other damage will be added to Britain's account,” Houthi Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein al-Ezzi said in a post on Sunday.
