On the first day of dengue vaccination in Sorocaba, Monday (6), 516 children aged 10 years were vaccinated in 30 basic health units. Vaccination will continue this week from 10 am to 4 pm in a staggered manner: on Tuesday (7) for children aged 10 years, and on Wednesday (8), Thursday (9) and Friday (10) for children aged 11 years. .

UBS Fiori, Simus and Hortência will not offer the vaccine at this time, as they work exclusively for patients with dengue symptoms.

At UBS Maria do Carmo, 10-year-old Julia Pacheco Lopez has already received her application. “We can’t miss the opportunity,” says the little girl. “We have to be up to date with all our vaccinations, including the dengue vaccine.”

Julia was accompanied by her mother, Karina Pacheco Lopez, who highlighted the importance of immunization. “We were waiting impatiently. It is good that the vaccine reached the children. Now we have to wait until we adults can take it too,” says the mother.

It should be noted that patients with weakened immunity should not be vaccinated due to contraindications. It is necessary to respect the six-month period if the resident contracts dengue fever. Another recommendation from the Ministry of Health (SES) is that the second dose should be received only 90 days after the first application.
