The Municipal Health Council (CMS/Manaus), on Monday (9), opened the registration for the electoral process that will select advisors representing users, managers and personnel of the Unified Health System (SUS).
With the election, users from East, West, North, South, Midwest, South Central, rural lands and rural rivers/river regions will have representation on the board, contributing to public health policy making.
Registration continues through Tuesday (10), and the election process aims to select 32 full consultants and their replacements, with 25% of the vacancies going to staff, 25% to managers and 50% to SUS users, who will serve in 2022-2025.
According to the Coordinator of the Electoral Process Committee, Chancellor Marclase Sequeira, those interested in participating should refer to the electoral list published in the Official Gazette of the Municipality (DOM Edition 5.331) in Manaus, on April 28, and the documents must be submitted. It was made at the headquarters of CMS / Manaus, located in the Oeste Health complex, on Rua Comandante Paulo Lasmar, s / nº, Santos Dumont complex, in the province of Paz, during the registration period.
For user representatives, CMS / Manaus also provides vacancies among representatives of environmental organizations; of religious organizations; associations of people with diseases; associations of persons with disabilities; organized movements of women in health; organized social and grassroots movements (black movement, LGBTQIAP+, mestizo, among others); and the indigenous people residing within the boundaries of the municipality of Manaus.
The Municipal Health Minister, Chancellor Djalma Coelho, highlights that the CMS/Manaus elections are an important moment to strengthen SUS and ensure community participation in the preparation and supervision of health measures.
CMS/Manaus is the collegiate, deliberative, advisory, normative and supervisory body of the SUS, which monitors, controls and evaluates health measures in the city of Manaus. Board members’ performance is voluntary and unpaid.
Elections will take place on June 6 and 7, with the inauguration of new council members scheduled for June 29.
