Vinyl record sales continue to rise, and Taylor Swift fans are to blame.

In 2022, in the United Kingdom, for the first time since 1987, revenue from the sale of LPs will exceed that of CDs. The best-selling vinyl of the century in that country.

It should be noted that LPs have been growing in popularity year after year, while CDs have been declining since their peak at the turn of the millennium. As of 2022, vinyl album sales have reached 5.5 million units, their highest number since 1990. “Midnights” has sold around 80,000 copies on vinyl.

This revival of vinyl is also evident in the sales charts: eight of the ten best-selling LPs of the year were new albums. According to “The Guardian”, the epidemic helped vinyl grow, and music lovers who could not attend concerts took the opportunity to increase their record collection.

6. People’s Choice – Museum
