sThe departure of Fotis Ioannidis from Panathinaikos could be close to being confirmed. The Greek club had been pressing for the Sporting striker in question, but the truth is that the striker was removed on Friday from the Greek team’s list of candidates for the duel with Botev Plovdiv, a match that counts for the second qualifying round of the Europa League.
Remember that Ioannidis is recovering from an injury to his right shoulder, which he sustained with the national team, and may not be 100% ready for the first and second leg matches.
What is certain is that the Greek club, according to UEFA rules, can make two changes to the squad until the day before the first leg, that is, until Wednesday. The match is on July 25, so any changes must be announced by July 24.
However, this absence from the Panathinaikos squad comes at a time when Sporting are more active in this file, as are the Italians from Bologna who also want the striker.
