Microsoft has disabled the ability to send photos and videos taken on Xbox consoles or Windows Game Bar directly to Twitter.

The company reports that from now on, you’ll be able to share snaps to Twitter from the iOS and Android app, but you won’t be able to do so directly from the consoles. Also, remember that you can continue to do this on Facebook and LinkedIn.

We’ve had to disable the ability to share game uploads to Twitter directly from the console and Game Bar on Windows. You can still share your favorite moments on Twitter via the Xbox app for Android and iOS.

This decision comes hours after Elon Musk threatened that he could be legally sued against Microsoft, due to the alleged use of information obtained through Twitter without his consent.

Faced with the news that Microsoft decided to remove Twitter from its advertising platforms because it did not want to pay fees for APIs, Musk responded that “Microsoft illegally used Twitter data for training. Time to sue.”

Since becoming the owner of Twitter, Musk has run into controversy after controversy and many of his decisions create problems with companies that have invested money in his social network.

The decision to start charging for visa verifying account authenticity or for previously free tools gives a lot to talk about as we now face a potential showdown with Microsoft.

I’m open to ideas, but ripping and demonetizing the Twitter database (removing ads) and then selling our data to others is not a workaround.
