Outright Games has unveiled the first gameplay footage for Sesame Street: Friends & Fun, offering an early look at how the long-running children’s franchise is being adapted into a new interactive adventure for younger players and families.
Developed in collaboration with Sesame Workshop, the title is scheduled to launch on 9 October 2026 across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game places players in the familiar Sesame Street neighbourhood, where they will meet established characters, complete educational activities and help prepare for a community celebration known as the Big Block Party.
The release adds another family-focused licensed title to Outright Games’ portfolio as the London-based publisher continues to target the children’s and family entertainment market.
New Sesame Street Gameplay Trailer Showcases Big Block Party Adventure
The newly released gameplay trailer provides the first detailed look at the game’s setting, activities and character interactions.
Players move into Sesame Street and become part of the neighbourhood as preparations begin for the Big Block Party. Exploration and interactive storytelling form a central part of the experience, with children encouraged to meet residents, assist with different tasks and participate in activities designed to combine entertainment with early learning.
Familiar Sesame Street characters appearing throughout the adventure include Elmo, Grover, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, Big Bird and Tango.
Each character introduces players to different activities. These include cooking alongside Cookie Monster, helping Abby Cadabby complete magical tasks and taking part in jobs around the neighbourhood.
According to details released alongside the trailer, Sesame Street: Friends & Fun will feature more than 50 story activities and mini-games, providing a mixture of creative tasks, exploration and educational challenges.
The Street Becomes Central Hub for More Than 50 Activities
Outright Games has also provided a first look at The Street, the initial major location confirmed for the game.
Designed as the central hub of the adventure, the area incorporates recognisable locations including the Community Garden, Bandstand and Farm, alongside other neighbourhood spaces inspired by the television series.
Players will be able to move around the environment and access different activities as the story develops. The publisher said additional locations based on the wider world of Sesame Street will be revealed closer to the October launch.
The familiar setting could be an important part of the game’s appeal among families, particularly given Sesame Street’s international recognition and its long-established focus on combining entertainment with childhood education.
Custom Characters and Local Co-Op Target Preschool Players
The game has been designed specifically with younger audiences in mind, combining narrative-driven gameplay with exploration and educational activities.
Children can create and customise their own playable character rather than exclusively controlling established Sesame Street personalities. Players will also be able to personalise their in-game home, adding another creative element to the experience.
The title can be played independently or through two-player local cooperative gameplay, allowing children and family members to participate together.
Outright Games said the game incorporates intuitive controls and positive reinforcement throughout, with the overall experience tailored towards preschool-age children and families.
Outright Games Expands Family Entertainment Portfolio

Its catalogue includes Peppa Pig: World Adventures, DC’s Justice League: Cosmic Chaos, Star Trek Prodigy: Supernova, PAW Patrol: Grand Prix and DreamWorks Dragons: Legends of The Nine Realms.
The Sesame Street partnership extends that strategy by connecting the publisher with one of the world’s most established educational entertainment brands.
Sesame Workshop, the global nonprofit organisation behind Sesame Street, has spent more than five decades combining education, media and research. Its programmes and characters reach families in more than 190 countries, with its work focused on early learning and helping children develop educational, social and emotional skills.
