Seniors 70+: vaccination against COVID-19 and influenza begins Saturday (02)

Published on 03/30/2022 at 15:00

More than 30,000 seniors aged 70 or older living in Jundiaí will be able to receive the second additional dose (D4) against COVID-19 and influenza vaccine starting Saturday (02), both at the decentralized centers available without the need to schedule , and in the drive-by system, in Parque da Uva, with scheduling placed on the Jundiaí City Hall website (vacina.jundiai.sp.gov.br), from Thursday (31), at 15:00.

“Jundiaí is doing an excellent job with health professionals in the face of COVID-19. Vaccination conducted in an efficient and humanized manner has reduced the number of hospitalizations from the disease to zero. With planning, a lot of work and partnership among the population, it is possible to celebrate a week without Hospitalization for COVID-19 in São Vicente de Paulo Hospital”, comments Mayor Luiz Fernando Machado. “To continue without admission to the new hospital, it is essential that everyone keep their vaccinations up-to-date and complete their age-specific schedules,” he adds.

“Influenza vaccination, the well-known flu, has been offered for decades to the elderly. This time, in addition to the flu vaccine, our grandparents will have to take the second extra dose against COVID-19, D4. Vaccination is an effective way to protect the most vulnerable population against respiratory viruses. Health Promotion Management Unit (UGPS) Director Thiago Teixeira comments.

Seniors will have the opportunity to schedule the implementation of the drive-by system or go to a decentralized center, on Saturday (02)
