SAE Guarapuava promotes World AIDS Day campaign

On December 1, World AIDS Day is celebrated and in the municipality of Guarapuava, various measures will be implemented to prevent and report the disease.

On December 1st, World AIDS Day is celebrated. This date was chosen as a means to awaken the importance of prevention and to provide information about the disease. In this way, the SAE (Service of Specialized Care) is promoting a campaign to raise awareness about the infection.

According to the SAE team, the campaign in Guarapuava will address audiences between the ages of 15 and 29. “This selection was made taking into account the municipality’s epidemiological data and the high rate of young people declaring not to use condoms in all sexual relations. The campaign goals are to dismantle prejudice about people living with HIV/AIDS and educate young people about joint prevention,” explains the SAE team, in a note.

Combined prevention, according to the Specialized Care Service, is related to HIV prevention measures, which shows the importance of preventing sexually transmitted diseases and viral hepatitis. This type of prevention brings common actions that take into account the individual characteristics of each person.

“In other words, the idea is to provide a list of options for the person to decide the best or possible method of prevention at that moment in life. After all, as life changes, forms of prevention must accompany the person at all times,” stresses SAE in a note.

Procedures in Guarapuava

This year, SAE expanded access to testing for residents of Guarapuava. Campaign activities will be carried out throughout the month of November, aiming to reach and inform as many people as possible.

In this way, rapid testing for HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B and C will be provided. In addition, condoms and guidelines will be made available to the general population. It is worth noting that the examinations are performed individually, while maintaining the confidentiality of the diagnosis. To take the test, simply take a photo ID to SAE.

It should be noted that it is not necessary to fast and the result is ready in 30 minutes. In addition, registered bars, nightclubs and motels will receive informational and prevention materials. Check out the actions promoted on World AIDS Day:
