The main variant of Manaus virus (P1), of most concern besides those in South Africa and the United Kingdom, was present in 91.49% of the samples analyzed in this study, in Rio de Janeiro, the same article reveals in the economic journal. .
The study, which has already analyzed just 376 samples from 57 municipalities in Rio de Janeiro (and which plans to process about 4,800 samples in six months), plans to examine 400 samples every 15 days. This investigation was funded by the Rio de Janeiro State Research Support Foundation.
