In the first 8 months of this year, the PlayStation 5 became the best-selling console of 2022 in the UK.
According to GamesIndustry’s Chris Dring, Sony experienced a big increase in console sales in August, thanks to more stock arriving in UK stores at a better pace, overtaking the Nintendo Switch, which has been the same since the start of the year. Lead the way.
As revealed, PS5 stock levels “increased by 56% in the UK in August (compared to July), meaning Sony’s console has overtaken the Switch to become the best-selling console of 2022 (so far).”
The Switch saw a 14% increase in sales in July, while Xbox series sales were flat.
Saints Row was the month’s best-selling game on Xbox consoles and sold 21% of units on Microsoft’s machines. Spider-Man Remastered was the PlayStation’s best PC debut and ranked #7 on the bestseller list ahead of Two Point Campus.
In accessories, the Dualsense led controls white first and black second. In third place is the white Xbox controller.
