The National Basketball Association (NBA) and Amazon, Monday (17), announced a long-term agreement to broadcast NBA matches live exclusively on Prime Video in Brazil. Prime Video will begin broadcasting up to 87 NBA regular season games across the country during the 2022-2023 league season, which kicks off Tuesday, when the Boston Celtics host the Philadelphia 76ers (8:30 p.m. EST) and Los Angeles Los Angeles. Prime Video will begin streaming up to four NBA-exclusive games each week on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the 2022-2023 regular season, as well as up to 24 Playoffs and a variety of original NBA content throughout the season, including pre- and post-game shows, Weekly shows with highlights, reviews, news, classic games and other programming hosted by local celebrities and influencers. During the 2021-2022 season, Jr. NBA – the league’s global youth basketball program for boys and girls – has reached more than 3 million young people in Brazil. NBA Games Live on Prime Video in Brazil joins a growing selection of live sports on the service globally, including Ligue 1 and Roland Garros in France, Premier League in the UK, ATP Tennis and WTA Tour and Autumn Nations Series rugby in UK and Ireland, UEFA Champions League in Germany and Italy, Thursday Night Football and WNBA in the US, New Zealand Cricket in India and much more. This year, Prime Video also broadcast Copa do Brasil matches in the country.
