According to the agenda of the state of São Paulo, Piracicaba will also promote this Saturday (30) Victory Day to immunize children against measles and influenza. The procedure aims to vaccinate children from the age of 6 months to less than 5 years.

The campaign will take place at about 3,200 health centers across the state, which will be open between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The Vaccine Sector of the Municipal Health Surveillance Center (Cevisa) is closing the work plan, outlining what jobs will be open and work teams, which should be released tomorrow.

“It is essential to educate parents and guardians about the importance of immunization against influenza and measles for children. Vaccines are safe and protect against dangerous forms of the disease”, confirms the director of immunization in Sao Paulo, Nubia Araujo.

The goal is to vaccinate 95% of children (a target audience of 12.9 million in the state) against measles. The target audience of Piracicaba, according to Syed, is about 21,000 children.

Influenza vaccination

This Saturday also begins a new phase of the influenza vaccination campaign for the same target audience. Measles and influenza virus vaccinations can be taken simultaneously, except for people diagnosed with Covid-19.
