These positions were exchanged between Antonio Costa and Paula Santos in the second round of public policy debate in the Assembly of the Republic.

Regarding education, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Communist Party of Pakistan lamented that there are about 80,000 students in basic and secondary education without at least one teacher.

And the Chief Executive replied: For schools, the main issue is to change the system of recruitment and linkage, something that should have happened a long time ago, with the aim of ensuring the stability of the School College and the educational community.

Regarding the situation in the health sector, the Prime Minister chose to compare the numbers for 2019 and July 2022, saying that we now have 8.9% more medical appointments in primary health care.

“We have 2.6% more hospital consultations and 8.9% more SNS surgical interventions than in 2019, the year immediately preceding the covid-19 epidemic. The answer is to ignore the exceptional work done by health professionals that results in increased production.”

Regarding the executive direction of SNS, Antonio Costa highlighted the goal of “improving management quality”.
