Paulo Diez joins the management of the local health unit upon the recommendation of the municipalities

The Executive Director of the Cluster of Health Centers (ACES) of Entre Douro e Vouga II – Aveiro Norte, Paulo Diz, is the municipality's choice to assume the role of Board Member of the Local Health Unit (ULS) in this sub-region, effective with the entry into the new year.
This new structure resulted from Decree-Law No. 102/2023, of 7 November, which provided for the creation of several ULS, including the Local Health Unit of Entre Douro e Vouga, with the nature of public business entities.
This ULS consists of the Entre o Douro e Vouga Hospital Centre, with the health center clusters integrated into Entre Douro e Vouga I – Feira e Arouca and Entre Douro e Vouga II – Aveiro Norte.
With coverage of the municipalities' selection of a member to join the ULS Board of Directors, the presidents of the councils of S. João da Madeira, Arouca, Olivira de Azeméis, Santa Maria da Feira and Vale de Cambra unanimously indicated the name by Paulo Diez.
As for the mayors, the Executive Director of ACES Entre Douro e Vouga II – Aveiro Norte has so far been a person with the “qualification, experience and professional skills to fulfill this role”, as stated in the proposal that was approved, in the case of S João da Madeira at the meeting Extraordinary meeting held in December.
Paulo Diez was also Executive Member of Centro Hospitalar de Vila Nova de Gaia/Espinho, Director of Financial Services at Centro Hospitalar do Baixo Vouga, Director of Financial Services at Hospital Infante D. Pedro, among other roles he held in the health sector.
