Customers just have to download the app or scan the QR code at the entrance to the store, remove the products from the shelves, and complete the purchase automatically. This technology will allow the payment to be made automatically, by associating it with a credit card.
The new store has an area of 20 square meters and a range of products suitable for immediate consumption, such as healthy snacks, energy bars, sweets and drinks, among others. Later the goal is to add refrigerated products as well, including healthy meals, ice cream, and cold drinks.
“We are very excited to launch this pilot project for our customers in collaboration with Sensei. This new smart store, which can be moved to any part of the Iberian Peninsula, allows us to offer an offer that is tailored to local events, facilitating the user experience – simplicity and speed”, commented Theresa Abekasis, Director of Galp.
In turn, Vasco Portugal, CEO of Sensei, underlines how proud they are of being “at the forefront of independent innovation in Europe”, particularly in “areas where people will really benefit on a daily basis”.
