Broxbourne Borough Council has opened two new grant schemes offering financial support to local businesses, social enterprises and voluntary organisations, with grants of up to £15,000 available for eligible projects across the borough.
The Ambition Broxbourne Grants for Business and the Broxbourne Community and Environment Grants are being funded through the Section 106 agreement with Google relating to the data centre in Waltham Cross.
Ambition Broxbourne Grants Support Business Innovation
The Ambition Broxbourne Grants for Business programme is designed to help local businesses and social enterprises pilot new and innovative projects or working practices.
Individual grants of between £5,000 and £15,000 are available.
Broxbourne Borough Council is particularly interested in projects that can be delivered promptly and demonstrate innovation, sustainability or a focus on digital technology.
Eligible proposals could include the rejuvenation of community assets, improvements to shopfront signage, investment in new machinery, sustainable energy initiatives and the introduction of digital solutions.
Funding Cannot Be Used for Business Overheads
The council has specified that grant funding cannot be used to meet routine business overheads, including rent or business rates.
Businesses and social enterprises considering an application should therefore ensure that their proposals focus on specific projects or investments that meet the objectives of the scheme.
Further information and application details are available through Broxbourne Borough Council’s website.
Community and Environment Grants Offer Up to £15,000
The separate Broxbourne Community and Environment Grant is aimed at voluntary sector organisations working within the borough.
Funding will support projects that benefit Broxbourne residents while contributing to the council’s wider strategic priorities.
These priorities include its Sports Facilities Strategy, Environmental Sustainability Strategy, Arts, Culture and Heritage Strategy and Corporate Plan.
Grants ranging from £2,000 to £15,000 are available to voluntary sector organisations that are either based in Broxbourne or provide services to people living in the borough.
Council Seeks Sustainable and Innovative Community Projects
Applications are being encouraged for projects that are readily deliverable, sustainable and innovative.
As with the business grant programme, funding cannot be used to pay routine overheads such as rent or business rates. Community grant funding also cannot be used to duplicate existing funding streams.
The scheme provides an opportunity for local voluntary organisations to secure financial support for projects covering areas such as environmental sustainability, sport, culture, heritage and other community priorities.
31 October Deadline for Broxbourne Grant Applications
Applications for both grant programmes must be submitted by 31 October 2026.
Funding is limited, and applications will be considered by a grants panel, which will assess submissions and select the bids considered most appropriate under the respective schemes.

With grants of up to £15,000 available under both programmes, the schemes are intended to support practical investment, innovation and sustainable community projects across Broxbourne. Eligible organisations have until the end of October to submit their applications for consideration.
