The rumors were confirmed and the Halo Infinite multiplayer mode was released even before the rest of the game, in a surprise that celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Xbox release, and based on Steam numbers it was well received by fans – there were more than 272 thousand. Play Halo Infinite simultaneously.

The multiplayer game Halo Infinite reached its peak with 272,856 players competing on Steam in just two and a half hours, making it the most successful Xbox Studio game in this regard, ahead of games like Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Halo: The Master Chief Collection Forza Horizon 5, which already has more than 8 million players.

Note that this number does not include Xbox app players or console players and that it could rise significantly in the next few days with a big spike on December 8, the official date of the full release of Halo Infinite.

In celebration of Xbox’s 20th anniversary, Microsoft also announced a documentary about the console and gave us a glimpse into the Halo Infinite series, which is set to premiere on Paramount+.
