Aleix Espargaro and Miguel Oliveira left the Losail Sprint Race, both with fractures, due to a racing mishap. Regarding the medical condition of the pilots, Aprilia CEO Massimo Rivola told Sky MotoGP:
“We were expecting a completely different Saturday, the medical situation is very complicated for Alex who unfortunately was caught by Miguel who went wide of that curve. Miguel suffered a fracture in his immediate shoulder, while Alex suffered a fracture of the fibula in his left leg. In just one lap, we caused In good damage…”
Rivola recalls Oliveira’s stance. “I think there’s a combination of things from his private life, the birth of his son Pedro, the transfer rumours, the physical situation (the arm pump), a combination of things that makes him lose some confidence, which makes you lose another half a second on the same bike which makes you lose 3 or 4 lines on the grid. Rivola concluded.
