Two Basic Health Units (UBSs), the resumption of the Health Academy and the Psychosocial Assistance Center (Caps) for children. These are works that will benefit thousands of residents of Marituba, in Pará, “We received the news two months ago and we are in the process of sending the documents to approve the project and start the works”, says Vitória Figueiredo Reza, Secretary of Health of the province. These units are part of the deliveries of the New Growth Acceleration Program (New PAC), which will invest more than R$ 31.5 billion in assisting the population through the Unified Support System.

Vitória was one of more than a thousand participants in the 11th edition of the Federal Caravan, which concluded today in Belém, and visited the pavilion of the Ministry of Health to clarify doubts regarding the projects of the units to be built and reported that they are now well underway.

In total, during the two days of the event, the department carried out 144 services in 30 municipalities of the state. “We ended this caravan with the certainty that the mission that President Lula entrusted us with to generate dialogue between the federal government and the municipalities has been accomplished,” explained Aila Vanessa de Souza, Director of the Department of Federal and Participatory Management (DGIP) of the Executive Secretariat of the Ministry of Health.

The Federal Caravan is a mobile activity that travels through several Brazilian states, with the aim of bringing federal agencies closer to municipal managers.

Participants receive personal service to clarify doubts, solve problems, request support and identify ways to improve services provided in municipalities.

The Ministry of Health has been in all previous editions of the caravans. The interministerial work has already visited the following states: Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Tocantins, Maranhão, Ceará, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Amapá and Piauí.
