Malhada City Council announced today that it is preparing projects for a series of works in several sanitary units in the municipality, with investments amounting to approximately 3.5 million euros.

“The projects are already being implemented, so when the skills are transferred, in March, the process is already underway, so that we can access the funds from the recovery and resilience plan,” said Municipal Chamber President Malhada. Council Antonio Jorge Franco.

According to this municipality in the Aveiro region, among the equipment that will be intervened is the Milhada Health Center, at an estimated cost of 1.8 million euros.

The package of works to be implemented also includes three sanitary extensions: Pampilhosa, with an intervention exceeding 608 thousand euros; Vacareka, whose investment will amount to 702 thousand euros; And “Lusso”, with an estimated value of about 377 thousand euros.

The work will focus on “improving staff and user conditions, accessibility and energy efficiency.”

In Vaccarisa, the site is scheduled to change, and work will begin on the old primary school, “redesigned for its intended purpose.”

The mayor of Milhada justified the need for this work by the fact that investment in maintaining infrastructure or correcting certain conditions “was zero.”

“The municipality will now have to implement a series of investments to protect residents in terms of access to healthcare. This is what we will do as soon as possible, benefiting from the PRR funds.” [Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência]An agreement was also reached with the government when negotiating competencies in the field of health.”
