Maranhão reaches 22 cases of monkeypox |  Maranhão

The State Department of Health (SES) in Maranhão reports that Maranhão already has 22 confirmed cases of monkeypox (monkeypox). They are all male.

Of all the suspected cases, 35 adults, eight teenagers, three children and two elderly people. Maranhão recorded its first case of monkeypox on August 10, 2022in São Luis, and since then authorities have been monitoring the disease’s progress.

In Grand Ilha, people with symptoms similar to monkeypox should contact the Basic Health Units, of the Municipal Administration, Carlos Maciera Hospital and Hospital da Ilha. In the interior of the state, in addition to UPAs, residents can seek care at six large regional hospitals.

“Every citizen with symptoms associated with monkeypox should look for the entrance door of the Basic Health Units, UPAS, and we will also have our reference hospitals.
