The Local Health Unit of Lezíria (ULS of Lezíria) has expanded the availability of a new electronic notification system for users who have scheduled appointments at the Santarém District Hospital (HDS). Through this new functionality, users will now receive notifications via the myULSLEZÍRIA app, email or SMS (according to the information available in the computer system) about their appointments and reminders (48 hours in advance) for all medical and nursing appointments. This project aims to facilitate communication with users, and aims to ensure that they are informed in advance of their clinical procedures at the hospital, seeking to reduce the number of missed appointments. It should be noted that in 2023, 138,861 medical consultations were performed at the HDS, with a total of 32,575 missed consultations, equivalent to a rate of 19%, of which only 3% were justified.
