LASO has announced the purchase of Chappell`s subsidiary Stubbington Ltd, thus strengthening its UK operations.

In September last year, LASO established itself directly in the UK, with the establishment of LASO UK, based in Southampton, in the south of England. The justification for opening the tenth branch was the same as always: to be closer to customers, to be more available and to offer the most suitable solutions to their needs.

Now, nine months later, the Portuguese transport company announces that “Chappell`s transport company of Stubbington Ltd has joined our group”. The value of the deal was not disclosed.

“We are counting on this step, with immediate effects, to provide LASO UK with the means and capabilities necessary for a growth carrier in the UK, which we hope will reflect added value for our partners, who immediately have a local fleet. The team is available and ready to solve the problem,” the company says in a statement. “All the challenges we face.”

Chappell`s of Stubbington Ltd is also headquartered in the Southampton area, between that port and Portsmouth, and operates throughout the UK and mainland Europe.

With over 40 years of activity, it is actually a similar company to LASO in terms of the type of services it provides.

Founded in 2007, LASO began a consistent process of internationalization ten years later, having established a presence in Morocco, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Slovenia, and now the United Kingdom, and previously being present in Spain and Mozambique.
