The British monarch took a break from public appearances nearly three months ago to focus on treatment for an undisclosed cancer.

The United Kingdom's King Charles III will attend public events next week after undergoing treatment for cancer, Buckingham Palace announced this Friday, April 26.

The British monarch took a break from public appearances nearly three months ago to focus on treatment for an undisclosed cancer.

The palace said Carlos will make a public visit to the cancer treatment center on Tuesday, the first of several appearances he will make in the coming weeks.

One of his first important duties was the state visit of the Emperor and Empress of Japan in June.

The palace did not provide an update on the king's condition or his treatment, although it said “the medical team is very confident in the progress made so far and remains optimistic about the king's continued recovery”.

Following the diagnosis on February 5, Carlos continued his state duties, including reviewing government documents and meeting with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

“Her Majesty is very confident of resuming some public duties and is very grateful to her medical team for their continued care and expertise,” the palace said in a statement.
