K-Man & The 45s Unleash Myth-Fuelled Ska-Punk Chaos on ‘Demon Days’

Montreal ska-punk veterans K-Man & The 45s have released “Demon Days”, the second single from their forthcoming album Heed The Call. The record is due on 9 October 2026 through Stomp Records, with the new track offering another glimpse of the band’s energetic blend of ska, punk rock and rock and roll.

Released on 23 September alongside a new music video, “Demon Days” embraces the group’s more unpredictable side, mixing two-tone rhythms, punchy horns and punk intensity with surreal storytelling.

‘Demon Days’ Takes K-Man & The 45s Into Mythological Territory

While previous single “We Won’t Stop” delivered a more direct and confrontational sound, “Demon Days” takes a looser approach.

The song draws on ancient mythology and rowdy barroom storytelling, creating a strange world populated by Egyptian gods, curses and late-night disorder. The lyric “All hell broke loose when the Pharaohs called a truce” sets the tone, before references to Ra, the Sphinx and Anubis add to the track’s deliberately chaotic imagery.

Musically, the single remains rooted in the band’s established ska-punk sound while drawing on influences associated with acts including The Clash, The Slackers, Mad Caddies, Big D and the Kids Table and fellow Canadian ska group The Planet Smashers.

Two-Tone Ska Meets Punk Rock Energy

At the heart of “Demon Days” is the balance between tightly controlled musicianship and the sense that everything could unravel at any moment.

Sharp horn arrangements cut through a driving rhythm section, while the song maintains the restless momentum associated with the band’s live performances. Rather than smoothing away that roughness, K-Man & The 45s use it as part of the track’s character.

That approach reflects a band shaped by years of touring and performing in crowded venues, where precision and spontaneity often need to coexist.

Montreal Recording Captures the Band’s Live Spirit

“Demon Days” was recorded and mixed by Ryan Battistuzzi at Le Stuzzio in Montreal.

The production keeps the performance energetic while allowing the band’s ska rhythms, punk edge and rock and roll influences to remain prominent. Its accompanying video extends the song’s surreal atmosphere, translating its mythological imagery and chaotic mood into a visual counterpart.

The result is a track designed to capture some of the unpredictability that has become central to K-Man & The 45s’ live identity.

‘Heed The Call’ Album Arrives in October

The forthcoming Heed The Call album is scheduled for release on 9 October 2026 through Stomp Records.

With “Demon Days”, K-Man & The 45s demonstrate a different side of the record following the more immediate impact of “We Won’t Stop”. The second single broadens the album’s musical and thematic scope while retaining the band’s familiar combination of ska, punk and rock and roll.

For listeners in the UK familiar with the lineage of two-tone and punk, the track carries recognisable elements of both traditions while filtering them through the band’s distinctly Montreal perspective.

As Heed The Call approaches its October release, “Demon Days” suggests K-Man & The 45s are continuing to explore the boundaries of their established sound, combining tightly played ska-punk with mythology, humour and deliberately unruly energy.
