Activision Blizzard’s vice president of executive affairs, Lulu Cheng Meservey, once again criticized Sony Interactive Entertainment’s stance on the deal between Microsoft and its company, accusing the company of only wanting to block the deal.
Through Twitter, where the Activision executive has repeatedly commented on what’s going on around the business (in which she actually made a memo mocking Sony), Meservey responded to the latest findings about the CMA investigation. More specifically, Sony fears that Microsoft will release inferior versions of Call of Duty games on PlayStation.
Meservey didn’t like reading this at all and reacted by commenting that the proposal they made to leader Sony was much better than some might have from Activision, yet they turned it down.
According to Meservey, SIE keeps saying no and the answer is easy, Ryan doesn’t want the new Call of Duty deal, he just wants to stop the merger.
The CEO of SIE answered this question in Brussels. In his own words: “I don’t want a new Call of Duty deal. I just want to prevent you from merging.”
Meservey says Jim Ryan said this on February 21, before the hearings began in Brussels, and says this is why SIE has not yet accepted the settlement offered by Microsoft.
