Loose Women star to embark on nationwide live tour spanning 2026 and 2027
Veteran broadcaster, author and television personality Janet Street-Porter has announced her biggest solo live tour to date, marking her milestone 80th birthday with a nationwide run of performances across the UK.
Presented by Cloud9 Management, Janet Street-Porter Is Still Off The Leash At 80! will begin in Sevenoaks on 14 September 2026 and conclude in Coventry on 22 April 2027, taking in more than 30 venues across England and Scotland.
The extensive tour will see the long-serving Loose Women panellist bring audiences an evening of candid storytelling, humour and audience interaction, reflecting on a career that has spanned journalism, broadcasting, publishing and television.
A career defined by controversy, creativity and cultural influence
Street-Porter has remained one of Britain’s most recognisable media figures for decades. From her early days in journalism through to senior roles in television and newspaper publishing, she has played a prominent role in shaping British media and popular culture.
According to the tour announcement, audiences can expect an unfiltered account of her life, from childhood memories to career achievements and personal challenges.
The promotional material describes her journey as one that took her “from a bolshy child with a Welsh-speaking budgie to a reluctant National Treasure,” highlighting a life that has rarely followed convention.
The live show promises a mixture of comedy, personal reflection and social commentary, with Street-Porter addressing both her passions and frustrations while sharing stories from a life lived in the public eye.
Audience questions and personal revelations planned for live performances
A key feature of the tour will be a question-and-answer segment, giving audiences the opportunity to engage directly with the broadcaster about her career, relationships and experiences.
Speaking about the forthcoming tour, Street-Porter said:
“Hold on to your hats! This show will be pretty cathartic for me- a deep dive into the subjects that can be hard to chat about truthfully on live television – from my tormented relationship with my mum to what really happens when a relationship runs out of steam. I’ll be brutally honest about the highs and lows of a helter skelter life well lived. And it’s not over yet!”
The announcement suggests the performances will explore topics that have often remained outside the scope of mainstream television discussions, allowing Street-Porter to share more personal reflections with audiences.
Her previous live appearances have been praised for their humour and honesty, with The Guardian describing her as:
“She’s warm. She’s irreverent. And she’s bloody funny!”
Award-winning journalist and broadcaster
Street-Porter’s career has encompassed multiple areas of the media industry. After studying architecture, she entered journalism in her early twenties as a columnist and fashion editor before moving into television and radio.
She later became a senior executive at the BBC and served as editor of The Independent on Sunday. Throughout her career, she has received numerous accolades, including Columnist of the Year, the Prix Italia for arts programming and a BAFTA for originality.
In recognition of her contribution to British media, she was awarded a CBE in 2016.
Beyond journalism and broadcasting, Street-Porter has authored several bestselling books, including memoirs Baggage and Fall Out, as well as the self-help titles Life’s Too Fing Short* and *Don’t Let the B**ds Get You Down!.
She remains a familiar face on British television through her long-running role on ITV’s Loose Women and appearances on programmes such as Have I Got News for You, MasterChef, Weakest Link, Pointless and Tipping Point.
Tour to visit more than 30 UK venues
The tour will visit a wide range of theatres and entertainment venues, including stops in London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Bristol, Leeds, Nottingham, Leicester and Coventry.
Other locations include Canterbury, Stevenage, Preston, Lancaster, Great Yarmouth, Harrogate, Hull, Mansfield, Peterborough and Hartlepool, offering audiences across the country the opportunity to see Street-Porter perform live.
The extensive schedule reflects continuing public interest in one of Britain’s most outspoken and enduring media personalities, whose career has remained relevant across multiple generations of television viewers and newspaper readers.
With audiences increasingly seeking live experiences featuring familiar public figures, the tour is expected to attract fans eager to hear Street-Porter’s uncensored reflections on a life spent at the heart of British media.
